I have decided to join the world of blogging, mainly because I can't let my brother one-up me. This first blog post will begin from the day he was born and go through Christmas. It took me a while to convince myself that I should do this...and we will see if I keep up with it.
So here we go.....
Benjamin Michael Early was born on October 25, 2012, at 4:41pm at Baylor All Saints hospital. Weighing 8.8lbs and was 21.6 inches. He came into this world not screaming too loud, unfortunately. He was whisked away to NICU, where the skilled hands of the NICU nurses and doctors worked their magic and made him all better.

Jeff and I, needless to say, thought we were 100% prepared to bring home a baby. Prepared with everything he needed and prepared emotionally. We had no idea what was in store for us. Benjamin, you were a great baby, but man, mom and dad had quite the learning curve, but with lots of support from our family, our best friends, and lots of prayers, we have started to figure it out!
One of our happiest moments was getting to introduce Benjamin to the head of the household, Baxter Lous Early the fifth. We weren't sure what to expect and were hoping it would go over well. Dad brought Ben into the living room and let Bax smell him...all in all it was successful, now they both just look at each other quizzically.
As most of you know, Benjamin did not have a name until about a month before he was born. My step-brother Scott, and his wife Fonda decided he would be named Elvis, Elvis Early. I actually kind of liked it. For Halloween Nina bought him an Elvis outfit (thanks to Aunt Sonya), he was only 7 days old. Meet Elvis, Elvis Early...he is our hunk of burning love! Benjamin, yes, this picture will be in your rehearsal dinner slide show!

And then we had our first Christmas with Ben. It was wonderful, we had a lot of family time with both of our families. He went to his first church service, and got to experience Joe Ts for the first time, he didn't have a margarita - promise!

Benjamin, one day you will read this and either smile and laugh or want to kill me. Your dad and I have been blessed beyond our imagination with you. We didn't know we could love another person as much as we love you. You already are a 'mama's boy' and I love it - you better stay that way!!!
Well, that concludes my first blog attempt. I hope I am as good as my brother and can update this weekly...wish me luck!
